Dimethylformamide (DMF) is a clear, colorless, hygroscopic liquid with a slight amine odor. Known as a universal solvent, DMF is frequently used for chemical reactions and other applications, which require a high solvency power. It is the preferred solvent for the production of acrylic fibers and also for polyurethane-based coatings on leather. Additional key applications for Dimethylformamide (DMF) include ink and dye carrier, paint stripper and cleaner.
